Behavioral Health: Non-Suicidal Self-Harm
Cutting or burning the skin is often an attempt to get temporary relief from increasing emotional pain. However, repeatedly injuring themselves, females (more than males) are at a greater risk of suicide. What four mental illnesses/disorders can be associated with self-injury? And how is this treated?

At high risk for accidental falls, certain people should be regularly screened to help reduce the high number of fall-related injuries and deaths in the U.S. Accidental falls result in 1.8 million emergency room visits and more than 16,000 deaths. “People need to know that falls are preventable, “ as stated Dr David J Thurman of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the CDC.
