COPD: The Methylxanthines
Considered a third line drug category, this bronchodilator provides numerous mechanism of actions including increasing the force of diaphragmatic contractions and suppressing further brochospastic stimuli. This category of drug continues to be used largely due to its low cost. However, there are adverse side effects which must be considered before using these drugs. Which two medications are found in this category?

Diabetes: Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 Inhibitors
DDP-4 is a new classification of oral diabetes medication. A star medication of this new group of pharmacologic agents is Januvia. Only one recommended dose level for use is needed. If any dose adjustment is needed, it is related to the renal function of your patient. Januvia only works in the presence of elevated blood sugar to address the diminished insulin due to dysfunctional beta and alpha-cells. What system does this medication enhance in order to regulate glucose in the pancreas?

A Time and Place
My list is centered on things that I should accomplish. But focusing on better time management can also includes others who interact with me on a daily basis. There are activities on my list that are not stamped with just my name on it. The intended outcomes can be obtained when more than one person is contributing to its accomplishment. Delegation is a word or action that can certainly make these situations better. When possible, delegate. It’s worth the time – yours and mine!

Do you know how much too much noise is or what types of protection there is to keep what hearing you have? Read, challenge yourself and others, and pass on this life-changing advice so that we all can hear and enjoy life.
