Behavioral Health: Bulimia Nervosa
Self-harm in the form of bulimia nervosa can be found in an estimated 1.1% - 4.2% of females during their lifetime. Signs and symptoms can include: recurrent episodes of binge eating, unhealthy focus on their body shape and weight, depression, and damaged teeth and gums from gastric acid continued in vomit. Purging and other compensatory behaviors follow these episodes. Their weight is usually in the normal range but their fears and emotions drive them to continue this non-suicidal type of self-harm.

COPD: Anticholinergics
Symptom control is superior with anticholinergics for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, when compared with beta² agonists. Three medications are in this category of agents including: 1) Ipratropium (Atrovent), 2) Oxitropium (OXBR), 3) Tiotropium (Spiriva). For mild to moderate COPD, Ipratropium is the drug of choice.

Pause for a Moment
The 80/20 rule … observed by Vilfredo Pareto during the 19th Century and historically named The Pareto Principle, continues to be relevant today. Applied in so many different contexts, it comes down to focusing on the critical few (20%) rather than on the average or middle of the road majority (80%). Setting your personal/professional goals can include expending lots of time and energy but if your focus is on that ‘critical few,’ the payback can be to your advantage. Do you have a ‘need to do’ task list?
