Sepsis: Early ID is Critical

High clinical suspicion is the key to the identification and proper management of septic patients.

An early and accurate diagnosis is critical to ensure appropriate therapy for these medical conditions because they are potentially life-threatening.

The Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) recommends two tests to be performed on 100% of patients suspected of having sepsis within the first six hours of sepsis encounter:

  • Serum lactate levels
  • Blood cultures
