CM Express: Daily CM Activities Influence HC

Case managers (CMs) across the spectrum of healthcare organizations routinely fulfill multiple roles including:

  • Supporting adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines
  • Patient advocacy
  • Effective care coordination
  • Prudent management of scarce resources

As CMs juggle their multiple roles it is sometimes useful to step back from the fray and look at why these pressures are mounting and how daily activities feed into and influence the health care system as a whole.
