What's NEW at Athena Forum

Invest in Revenue Cycle Management Training

Lack of staff training is listed as one of the top 5 challenges facing hospitals in today's healthcare marketplace, according to a recent article on Revenue Cycle Intelligence. Providing training can save healthcare organizations money, creating a high ROI for those institutions that invest in a well-trained Revenue Cycle Team.

In September, Athena Forum will publish a new Revenue Cycle Management course with eight modules focused on training CMs to increase core knowledge of revenue cycle management.

The purpose of the Improving Outcomes in Revenue Cycle Management course is to improve the Case Manager's knowledge and understanding of the revenue cycle and the impact the Case Manager has on revenue:

  • The Case Manager will better understand the claims and reimbursement process for both commercial and government payers.
  • This course will improve the Case Manager's ability to provide leadership and implement critical thinking strategies

In the next 2-3 weeks, the Monday Memo will address additional organizational challenges, such as Billing Errors, Claims Processing and the importance of financial policies. Athena Forum courses with a focus toward the influence of case management and care coordination on the revenue cycle and "Denials Prevention" will be highlighted.

Tips from our featured course

Overall Influence of Case Management on the Revenue Cycle

"Improving Claims" is a focus on the capture of revenue through strategies to optimize reimbursement and lessen the impact of the medically uninsured/under-insured/indigent.
